Tengye Furniture Eames Lounge Chair, byDesigned in 1956, Ray and Charles Eames are modern versions of traditional English club chairs. Eames wanted to create a comfortable lounge chair that combined ergonomics with top materials and craftsmanship. It took years to create such a perfect lounge chair. It’s different in ordinary club chairs, it has more Lighter, more elegant design and unparalleled comfort.

Designer Profile:Ray and Charles Eames are an American designer couple whose names are familiar to anyone interested in any modern design. Charles Eames was born in 1907 in St. Louis, Missouri. He studied architecture at the University of Washington and continued his studies at the Cranbrook Art Institute in Michigan in 1940 at the invitation of Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen. There, he met Eero Saarinen, who participated in a competition called "Family Organic Design." Decoration, arranged by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Eames and Saarinen won the competition using plywood forming technology originally developed by Alvar Aalto. In Cranbrook, Charles Eames also met her future wife Ray, who married in 1941.

Ray Eames (née Kaiser) is an artist and photographer born in 1912 in Sacramento, California. Since 1941, she and Charles Eames have begun to shape plywood into furniture, creating an important career as a furniture designer. In 1946, Eameses exhibited their work at MoMA, and in 1948 Herman Miller began making their designs. In 1949, the famous Eames House was built in California - in addition to a home, Eames House was also the space for many famous designers at the time. In the 1950s, Eameses began to pay more attention to photography and film.

In their career,Charles and Ray Eames have won many prestigious design awards, such as the Royal Gold Award and the 25th Anniversary Award from the American Institute of Architects. In 1985, the American Industrial Designers Association awarded Eameses "The Most Influential Designer of the 20th Century" Commendation. Charles Eames continued his productive career until his death in 1978, when Ray died in 1988 and was ten years away from Charles.
